Non-Invasive Cardiologist Locum Tenens Description

We are seeking a Non-Invasive Cardiologist for a locum tenens opportunity in Bellingham, Washington , primarily providing hospital-based support.

The physician must be capable of reading Echocardiograms, Cardiac Nuclear studies, and TEE , and must be experienced with cardiac nuclear medicine . Nuclear Board Certification is not required .

The client may run emergency/fast privileges , depending on exceptions associated with the role.

Weekend Call: 4 hours of gratis time is required on the 24-hour weekend call.

The selected Cardiologist will be responsible for:

• Providing non-invasive cardiology services
• Serving in a hospitalist-style cardiology role
• Providing primarily hospital-based/inpatient support
• Performing inpatient rounding
• Managing admissions
• Evaluating and treating adult patients
• Providing scheduled daytime clinical coverage
• Providing weekday overnight call coverage
• Providing weekend call coverage
• Performing cardioversions
• Performing and interpreting TEE studies
• Reading Echocardiograms
• Reading Cardiac Nuclear studies
• Providing cardiovascular disease services consistent with the requested privileges
• Working with other providers and independently as required
• Supporting both hospital and clinic privileges, although there are no outpatient clinic needs for this assignment
• Providing emergency coverage when emergency/fast privileges are granted based on applicable role exceptions
• Completing required cardiovascular disease case documentation from the previous 24 months

Applicants must provide documentation of cardiovascular disease services representative of the scope and complexity of the privileges requested during the previous 24 months .

• Physician specializing in Cardiology
• Non-Invasive Cardiology experience
• Experience in a hospital-based/hospitalist cardiology role
• Must be licensed to read:
  • Echocardiograms
  • Cardiac Nuclear studies
  • TEE
• Experience with cardiac nuclear medicine required
• Nuclear Board Certification is not required
• Experience performing cardioversions required
• Experience performing TEE procedures required
• Must be able to provide inpatient rounding and admissions
• Adult patient experience required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Certifications must be from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross , as applicable
• EPIC experience required
• Required cardiovascular disease case logs/documentation from the previous 24 months
• Must be able to meet the scope and complexity of the requested privileges

• Washington State license and DEA preferred to be in hand
• Expedited credentialing is expected
• IMLC candidates accepted
• Non-licensed candidates accepted as of 02/24/2026
• WA license and DEA in hand are preferred due to the expedited credentialing process

• Shift: Day
• Standard Shift: 7:00 AM-3:00 PM
• Daily Shift: 8-hour schedule, listed as 7:00 AM-5:00 PM in the detailed schedule information
• Regular Schedule: 5 days
• Call: Approximately 1:6
• Weekday Call: 1-2 weekday call nights on average
• Weekend Call: One call weekend
• Coverage: Scheduled shifts + on call required
• Block Schedule: No
• 24-Hour Weekend Call: Includes 4 hours of gratis time
• Holiday Call: May apply according to the observed holiday schedule
