Prepared Plant Superintendent

Description

Supervise and direct department employees ensuring adherence to safe food handling practices and regulatory compliance, while production quality products. Assist Manager in staffing and continuous improvement of department through training, coaching, leading and supervising. Enforce Company policies, procedures, regulations and practices, and GMPs within your department. Produce and distribute reports as required. Ensure customer standards and expectations are met. Assist in relationship communication with USDA Inspectors and Quality Assurance team members. Assist with interview, selection, training, onboarding and coaching of new and existing supervisors and production team members. Lead and assist with preparation of 3rd party and internal audits. All other relevant duties to the position.

Requirements

Bachelor Degree in Food, Animal or Poultry Science, or other closely related field of study preferred. 3+ years supervisor experience required, preferably in poultry or meat processing. Proficient technology, computer, mathematics and analysis skills. Excellent communication skills. English language skills required; Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Typical office environment within a manufacturing plant utilizing computers, telephones and other office equipment.
  • Frequently sit for long periods.
  • Occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
  • May be exposed to noise (>85 decibels), CO2, and moving production lines.
  • May be exposed to damp, wet, and cold environments.
  • Work around live and/or raw animal odors.
