Diverse Staffing is hiring a Material Handler for a manufacturing facility in Whitestown, IN. This position supports shipping, receiving, inventory control, and material movement throughout the plant.
This is not a forklift-only position. Approximately 25% of the work involves operating a sit-down forklift, while the majority of the shift focuses on shipping, receiving, inventory tracking, material handling, and warehouse support.

Job Duties

Receive, distribute, and store materials and finished goods in designated locations
Maintain accurate inventory records and track incoming and outgoing shipments
Review shipping documents, labels, quantities, and packaging for accuracy
Inspect inbound freight for damage and verify shipment counts
Load, unload, transport, and stage materials throughout the facility
Operate a sit-down forklift to support shipping, receiving, production, and warehouse operations
Maintain a clean and organized work area by disposing of scrap materials, cardboard, and packaging materials

Must-Have Requirements

Minimum 2 years of warehouse, shipping, receiving, inventory, or material handling experience
Ability to accurately maintain inventory and shipping records
Basic computer skills and experience working with shipping documentation
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work a rotating 2-2-3 schedule
Ability to safely operate or learn to operate warehouse equipment

Preferred Qualifications

Previous sit-down forklift experience
Previous forklift certification
Manufacturing or warehouse experience
Experience with shipping software and inventory systems

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for most of a 12-hour shift
Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
Ability to safely move heavier materials using equipment or team lifting procedures
Ability to climb on and off forklifts and warehouse equipment

Work Environment

Manufacturing and warehouse environment
Regular exposure to moving equipment and production activity
Moderate noise level
Occasional work in shipping, receiving, and outdoor loading areas
Frequent material handling and inventory movement
Approximately 25% sit-down forklift operation and 75% shipping, receiving, inventory, and warehouse support activities
