Job Description - PA/NP for Women's Oncology Department (43124) Position: PA/NP for Women's Oncology Department (43124) Location: Erlanger Baroness Hospital, Chattanooga, TN Type: Regular - Exempt - Full-time - Standard Hours 37.5 Job Summary: An allied health professional, employed by Erlanger Health Systems, who performs as a physician extender by providing direct and indirect patient care (both inpatient and outpatient) under orders of the attending physician and any others as defined by the Collaborative agreement the PA has with the collaborating physician and within the guidelines of the current legislation of the State of Tennessee. This position is involved in a team-based approach to care. Team members are trained to meet the highest level of function for their role as per the State of Tennessee/Georgia guidelines. Responsibilities include coordinating care for patients and supporting patients/families/caregivers in self-management, self-efficacy, and behavior change. The employee is also involved in managing the practice's patient population and participates in the practice's quality improvement process and performance evaluation. Education: Required: Graduate of a Physician Assistant Program accredited by the American Academy of Physician Assistant. BS/BA or Graduate of Nursing (MSN) degree. Preferred: Master's Degree program. Experience: Required: One to three years' experience in a primary care setting. Preferred: New graduates accepted based upon recommendations and references provided. Women's Oncology experience. Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration Required: Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician's Assistants. Performs under current legislation of the State of Tennessee (HB 1601, Public Chapter #719). Department Position Summary: The employee will have significant interaction with residents and faculty of the UT Family Practice Residency Program, thus allowing the program to be an additional training tool in preparing residents to work with physician extenders. The employee must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate for the age of the patients served by the UT Family Practice Center, including knowledge of the principles of growth and development relative to age-specific needs as described in the center's policies and procedures. #J-18808-Ljbffr Erlanger Health System
