Social Worker II (LICSW), Behavioral Health

We are seeking a licensed Social Worker to provide crisis intervention, psychiatric assessment, treatment planning, therapy, and discharge planning for patients in the Emergency and Psychiatry Departments. This role works closely with an interdisciplinary team to support timely, patient-centered care and appropriate disposition planning.

Key responsibilities include conducting psychosocial and behavioral health assessments, providing crisis intervention and support appropriate patient disposition, developing and implementing treatment and discharge plans, providing individual, group, and family therapy as appropriate, completing documentation, progress notes, and assessments in a timely manner, collaborating with physicians, nurses, families, and community resources, participating in quality improvement and departmental initiatives, and maintaining current knowledge of crisis intervention and high-risk psychiatric care.

Required qualifications include a Master's degree in Social Work or related field, current LICSW, LGSW, LGPC, or LCSW licensure in the District of Columbia, 2–5 years of psychiatric social work or counseling experience, experience with adult, geriatric, and crisis populations preferred, current CPR certification required, and strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.

Preferred skills include experience in emergency or acute psychiatric settings, knowledge of triage and crisis assessment, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Salary range: Minimum 37.58/hour - Maximum 61.99/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
