Patient Services Manager

The Patient Services Manager is responsible for the overall operation of a clinical unit and has 24-hour accountability for all patient care activities and staff who work under his/her direction. This position ensures the effective delivery of clinical patient care and compliance with administrative and clinical policies and procedures. The Manager develops and implements a supportive environment that energizes staff to enhance the delivery of safe quality patient care.

Responsibilities

Oversees the care provided to patients coming to CVRU for including but not limited to Cardiac Cath, Peripheral Angiography, Special Procedures, Electrophysiology and Pacemaker Insertion.

Oversees care that is provided to any patients that are admitted to CVRU or OU.

Oversees care of Observation class patients that are admitted to CVRU or OU.

Oversees and maintains patient throughput for CVRU and OU that align with the vision and goals of Covenant HealthCare.

Responsible for departmental Quality Assurance, maintaining the Chargemaster for areas of responsibility, regulatory compliance with multiple agencies, and statistical reporting.

Maintains an accurate Chargemaster and coding systems utilizing appropriate CPT-4 and ICD-10 codes.

Works collaboratively with physicians and other service providers for desired quality, fiscal and service outcomes.

Contributes to organization success targets for patient satisfaction and net operating margin.

Collaborates with other disciplines to design, implement, evaluate, and/or adapt systems of care to achieve targeted clinical and fiscal outcomes.

Applies a systematic process for program planning and resource allocation for populations of patients.

Ensures that the physical environment within CVRU / OU promotes quality patient outcomes.

Creates and maintains a culture of service excellence and serves as a role model to others.

Promotes clinical excellence through applied clinical knowledge, leadership, and research utilization.

Through team facilitation, the vision, values and goals for the unit and teams are aligned with the organizational mission, goals, and objectives.

With staff, designs systems, processes, and roles for effective unit leadership.

Accomplishes goals of unit, department, and organization.

Holds all suppliers of service accountable for their services to the patient, team, unit, and organization.

Orchestrates change to improve clinical and organizational outcomes.

Creates and cultivates high-performing and cohesive team(s) that transcend the boundaries of roles, disciplines, and/or unit geography.

Inspires teams and individuals to give their best to achieve desire patient team, and unit outcomes.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Current Michigan licensure to practice as an RN; BSN.

BSN or Bachelor's degree in related field required.

RN with clinical expertise and demonstrated leadership experience who commits to completion of a baccalaureate program within 3 years of hire will be considered.

BLS Certification

Maintains professional development through seminars, workshops, in-service activities and current professional literature.

Minimum of three to five years experience in a hospital setting required.

Previous management or education experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Computer competency, including Microsoft Office

Knowledge of standard office equipment.

Clinical expertise.

Must be able to work well with the public and able to be tactful in often hectic and stressful situations.

Sound judgment in handling confidential or sensitive issues and material.

Ability to develop and lead teams.
