Job Description
The Retail Manager in Training role is designed to equip candidates with comprehensive operational, leadership, and customer engagement skills necessary to manage a medium-sized retail team effectively. Throughout the training period, the focus is on developing expertise in sales techniques, inventory control, and staff leadership within a dynamic retail environment. This position reports to the Store Manager, Regional Manager, and Operations Director and involves local store visits as part of the training process. Successful completion opens opportunities for lateral moves within the retail sector.
Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate a team of 6-15 employees
- Manage inventory control and ensure stock accuracy
- Deliver excellent customer service and enhance engagement
- Oversee sales management to meet store targets
- Train and develop staff to build team capabilities
- Maintain visual merchandising standards
- Control expenses and optimize store profitability
- Prepare and submit regular operational reports
- Manage day-to-day store operations efficiently
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in retail management
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong customer service and sales techniques
- Proven inventory management skills
- Effective team leadership capabilities
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks efficiently
