Special Events Intern

Cart Basel is an in-person growth conference in Miami designed for Shopify founders and executives building what's next in ecommerce. Role Description The Special Events Intern will support the planning and execution of Cart Basel’s on-site programming in Miami. This full-time role involves assisting with event logistics, including venue setup, registration, attendee check-in, and coordination of roundtables and networking sessions. The intern will help manage guest communications, respond to attendee inquiries, and provide professional, on-site customer support throughout the event. Day-to-day responsibilities include working closely with the event management team on schedules, vendor coordination, and materials preparation, as well as supporting content creation and post-event follow-up tasks. The role is on-site and requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual who can collaborate effectively with internal staff, partners, and attendees. This internship ends the week of February 14th, as it is directly tied to the annual event cycle of our events the week of Februrary 1st. Expect to work part time or full time (your choice), at least 10 hours per week (an average of 2 hours per day) up until middle of January where the expectation is to work at least 20 hours per week, followed by 30-40 paid hours the week of February 1st. What We're Looking For You are available until the week of February 14th You possess skills in or adjacent to Event Planning and Event Management to support logistics, timelines, and on-site coordination. You should possess strong Customer Service and Communication skills to interact professionally with attendees, partners, and vendors. You should possess Sales or outreach skills to assist with attendee recruitment, partner relations, and event promotion. You should demonstrate excellent organizational abilities, attention to detail, and time management in a fast-paced event environment. You should be comfortable talking t people, able to stand and move for extended periods, and willing to work long, flexible hours shortly before and during the event week. Relevant coursework or experience in events, hospitality, marketing, or communications is beneficial; familiarity with Shopify or e-commerce is a plus.
