Employment Compliance Investigative Analyst People, Culture, and Technology Services Division, San Diego Community College District Location: 3375 Camino del Rio South, San Diego, 92108 Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.; may require schedule adjustments Responsibilities Conduct workplace investigations and prepare investigative reports Assist with administrative hearings and due‑process actions Interpret and apply collective bargaining agreements, employment policies, and state/federal labor laws Provide guidance to managers and supervisors on personnel matters and discipline procedures Support union stewards, representatives, and other stakeholders in resolving workplace issues Contribute to the development and delivery of performance‑management documents and improvement plans Research Education Code, Government Code, and other relevant regulations to address labor‑relations issues Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards during investigations Qualifications Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in employment, labor, industrial relations, business, public administration, law, or related field and five years of progressively responsible HR or labor‑relations experience Preferred: Juris Doctor, Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or Public Administration Proven knowledge of federal and state employment, labor, and education laws Experience conducting or assisting with workplace investigations and administrative hearings Experience interacting with union stewards or representatives Experience providing guidance to managers and supervisors on personnel matters Experience interpreting collective bargaining agreements and employment policies Experience in administering discipline and due process, including drafting counseling, disciplinary documents, performance evaluations, and improvement plans Prior experience within an educational institution or public entity preferred but not required Excellent written and oral communication skills Demonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds Required Documents Resume Three professional references Official college transcripts (if applicable) Certificate of Tuberculosis Examination (initial and periodic renewal) Proof of eligibility to work in the United States (I‑9 documentation) Live Scan fingerprint clearance New‑hire processing appointment attendance Optional Documents Unofficial transcripts (undergraduate and graduate) Foreign degree evaluation (if applicable) Licenses, certificates, or credentials Equal Employment Opportunity Statement: The San Diego Community College District is an equal opportunity employer and encourages applications from a diverse range of candidates, including those from historically underrepresented groups.
