Senior Accounting Analyst

This position will focus on our internal accounting operations. The successful candidate will work across the enterprise to ensure timely, accurate financial reporting and sound internal controls. The role will also be involved with the processing of Customer Rebates and Sales Commissions for the company, to provide the opportunity for growth and development through exposure to the broader business operations. This fantastic opportunity is a full-time position reporting directly to the Controller of the company. It is based at our office in Perrysburg, Ohio. Job Responsibilities Oversee the calculation, audit and approval process for the Company’s customer rebates and sales commissions. Prepare accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports, to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to defined accounting standards. Complete monthly closing/reconciliation activities, ensuring journal entries and the general ledger are accurate. Review records of accounts and entries into proper accounts. Work with business to ensure accuracy. Assist in Intercompany Accounting at month-end, ensuring transactions between entities are accurate and complete Support internal control framework by maintaining adequate supporting documentation, understanding and adhering to accounting standards, and complying with internal processes and controls. Key Success Factors Include Understanding of fundamental finance and accounting concepts: GAAP, financial statements, etc. while still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills. Analyzes possible solutions using standard procedures to solve problems that may arise. Proficiency in PowerBI or like systems such as Tableau and SAP. Proficient in data science, data analytics, and business intelligence. Ability to multi-task and make progress on multiple priorities concurrently, keeping them on schedule. Excellent communication skills – a natural ability to talk to and connect with people to get results. Outstanding attention to detail – ability to work with numbers and deliver results with reliability and accuracy. Drive for results - Self-motivated individual who does not require a lot of oversight to get the job done. Desire to learn and willingness to be coached and developed for career growth within the company. Defined Performance Metrics Ensure sales and use tax compliance that prevents the company from incurring penalties from audit findings. Deliver complete, clean account reconciliations. Own Fixed Assets and CIP accounting, including ROI post-mortem for major projects. Achieve month-end and quarter-end timelines and deliver results within stated deadlines.
