Salary: $176,800 - 193,440 per year Requirements:

• We are seeking 8–10+ years of data architecture experience with proven enterprise-level ownership rather than single-project or single-domain scope.
• We need hands-on Google Cloud Platform experience with deep BigQuery expertise, including partitioning and clustering strategy, dimensional modeling, performance and cost tuning, and dataset-level access controls.
• We require demonstrated ownership of a canonical/conformed enterprise data model and dimensional star-schema standards used across multiple consuming teams.
• We need experience designing data governance architecture, including metadata, classification, ownership, and lineage as technical implementations rather than policy alone.
• We require practical experience with a data catalog or metadata management tool such as Dataplex, Collibra, or Alation.
• We seek a history of setting and enforcing standards across several teams through reference patterns and lightweight review processes instead of heavy approval gates.
• We need someone who can work independently at an architect level in a contract engagement and establish credibility and direction quickly.
• Preferred: experience with large-scale EDW-to-cloud migrations, especially to Google Cloud Platform and BigQuery.
• Preferred: retail, e-commerce, or consumer domain experience.
• Preferred: familiarity with medallion or lakehouse layer design and conformed-dimension strategies in a cloud data warehouse.
• Preferred: experience launching or maturing a data catalog or data product marketplace, including certification or trust-tier models.
• Preferred: exposure to data product operating models covering product, business, and technical ownership of data assets.

• We own and maintain the enterprise data architecture for EDP, including the patterns, principles, and standards that govern how data is structured, integrated, and exposed across all domains.
• We define and uphold modeling and architecture standards across the medallion layers so designs remain consistent regardless of which team or solution architect delivers them.
• We own the canonical, conformed data model for core business entities such as customer, product, order, and inventory, keeping definitions aligned across marketing, supply chain, and other domains.
• We own star-schema and dimensional modeling standards in the gold layer, including fact and dimension design, conformed dimensions, grain definitions, and slowly changing dimension patterns.
• We set dimensional and conformed-layer standards for solution architects to execute against, preventing shared entities and metrics from diverging across workstreams.
• We lead the technical implementation of the data governance framework, turning governance policy and ownership models into working platform architecture.
• We define how metadata, ownership, and classification are captured and enforced so the right information is recorded at the correct points in the pipeline.
• We design the data lineage architecture, including how lineage is captured, maintained, and surfaced through pipeline instrumentation.
• We define and operate the data product certification tiers within Trailhead, including the criteria and publishing workflow that move a data product between tiers.
• We establish catalog and metadata standards that keep the gold layer accurate, complete, and trustworthy as new data products are published.
• We review architectural and modeling decisions across workstreams to confirm designs align with enterprise standards before build-out begins.
• We create reference architectures, pattern libraries, and decision records so standards are easy to adopt without slowing delivery.
• We provide hands-on architectural guidance to engineering teams and solution architects on design and implementation choices across the platform.
• We document standards and architecture so platform design knowledge remains within the internal team over time.

We have an immediate opening for a senior, hands-on EDP Data Architect on a contract basis. This role sits within our Platform Enablement team and helps shape the enterprise data architecture for our Google Cloud Platform-based Enterprise Data Platform, built on a medallion architecture. We are supporting both migration from our legacy on-premises EDW and the creation of new enterprise data products across marketing, customer, and other business domains. The role is fully remote/telecommute, offers an hourly contract rate of $85–93, and is aligned to standard business hours.
