Job Title: Radiologic Technologist - Cardiac Cath Lab Profession: Diagnostic Imaging Specialty: Cath Lab Technologist Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift: Monday - Friday Hours per Shift: Typically 0600 - 1630, Schedule Flexible on 5x8 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Must meet state licensure requirements appropriate to certification and job function (e.g., Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist license and Fluoroscopy permit if ARRT certified). American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) Current ACLS and BLS certifications required. Must-Have: Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Technologist Program or Radiologic Technologist Program. Under the direction of leadership, the Cardiac Cath Lab Radiologic Technologist performs professional duties involved in a variety of technical procedures. Responsible for all imaging aspects in the Cardiac Cath Lab room. Ability to scrub and pan cardiovascular arterial venous studies with medical professionals. Procedures include vascular angiography, angioplasty, arteriography, electrophysiology, hemodynamic measurements, and PPM/AICD insertion and replacements. Manage the ordering of inventory and supply chain under facility PAR level. Monitor per case expense and offer cost‑saving ideas. Must maintain compliance with rules and regulations set forth by governing accreditation agencies. Maintain and troubleshoot fluoroscopy and ultrasound equipment. Ability to recognize overexposure of radiation. Must verbalize basic principles of radiation physics, biology, and radiation safety necessary to keep levels to the patient and staff at a minimal level. As a team member, must follow AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, and Thank You). Accept reassignments and additional duties in a flexible and positive manner. Must maintain an environment of cohesiveness and teamwork. May be asked for radiation safety input to maintain accreditation. Other duties as assigned. Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, and applicable professional standards. Provides customers with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating core and leader behaviors each day. Able to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and stretch frequently. Possesses physical agility and adequate reaction time to respond quickly and appropriately to unexpected patient care needs. Requires adequate hearing and visual acuity, including color vision. Requires fine motor skills, adequate eye‑hand coordination, and the ability to grasp and handle objects. Able to assist patients in ambulating and transferring using proper body mechanics. May be required to lift up to 75 pounds. Must use standard precautions due to the threat of exposure to blood and bodily fluids. Effective communication is necessary through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on the telephone.
