Overview Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN in Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Marrero, Louisiana. Job Details Specialty: Labor and Delivery Discipline: RN Start Date: 06/29/2026 Duration: 4 weeks Hours: 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Location: Marrero, Louisiana (Facility) Responsibilities The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse provides comprehensive patient care in the obstetric setting, including assessment of maternal and fetal health, administration of treatments, and collaboration with healthcare teams to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care during labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period. Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, provide reassurance, educate on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care. Administer prescribed medications and treatments, prepare equipment, and assist physicians during labor, delivery, and examination of patients. Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn. Monitor fetal status, perform fetal monitoring and interpret results; respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence-based protocols. Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care. Document patient care and interventions in the medical record; participate in quality improvement initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of labor and delivery nursing.
