Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs

Saint Joseph's College of Maine is hiring for the position of Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs .

POSITION DESCRIPTION : Supports the division of Academic Affairs by supporting program development and implementation; participating in faculty evaluation and the assessment of all aspects of the academic program; assisting with academic policies, procedures, and governance; managing faculty development and mentorship; and supporting internships, community-based and experiential learning integration strategies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

• Master's Degree with extensive higher education administration experience is required
• Doctoral degree with five years or more of management/administrative experience in higher education is preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES :

• Must have excellent skills in the following areas: writing, interpersonal communications, supervision, computer/PC use, and decision making
• Long range planning, systems thinking, and strategic vision skills
• Ability to lead new initiatives and work effectively in an ever-changing environment Ability to use creativity and innovation in strategy formation and problem-solving Must demonstrate teamwork skills and a willingness to help others
• Possess a positive attitude to foster a cohesive working environment
• Strong people, interpersonal and relationship skills with a wide range of constituents Proven leadership and managerial skills
• Proven training, coaching and mentoring abilities
• Strong customer service skills
• Must be flexible, creative and be able to handle many projects at once
• Strong organizational abilities
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
• Tolerates work related stress effectively and maintains self-control/professionalism
