Housekeeping Aid (Leader)

This Housekeeping Aid (Leader) position is within the Environmental Management Service (EMS) under the Facilities Management Service Department at the VA White River Junction Healthcare System located in White River Junction, Vermont. Qualifications and Requirements To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 07/27/2026. EXPERIENCE: A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Evidence which demonstrates you possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of this position must be supported by detailed descriptions of such on your resume. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualification Standards. SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT: Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which usually appears as question 1 in the online questionnaire. Those applicants who appear to possess at least the minimal acceptable qualification requirement are considered for further rating; those who do not are rated ineligible and are eliminated. Physical Requirements Incumbent must be able to continually stand, bend, stoop, and reach while performing regular duties. Must be able to lift or carry objects weighing approximately 50 pounds. Occasionally pushes loads weighing up to 700 pounds. Mostly works indoors in an adequately heated, lighted, and ventilated area. May be exposed to diseases while performing duties. Working Conditions Incumbent is a working leader that leads housekeeping aids under their control as well as performs housekeeping duties when not leading. Must be able to work under pressure, exercise flexibility in changing one type of work to another with only short notice, and meet emergencies and deadlines without undue interruption of routine. Incumbent may be required to work any established tour of duty as deemed necessary for the function of the operation.
