This role involves providing emergency care in a 33-bed Emergency Department with advanced trauma features, specialty care rooms, and scribe support, starting July 1, 2026. Opportunity Highlights Emergency Medicine locum tenens opportunity Start: July 1, 2026 37 hours of physician coverage weekly 36 hours of NP/PA coverage weekly Trauma-capable facility with specialty care rooms (ENT, Orthopedics, GYN, etc.) Advanced trauma features and cardiac-monitor beds EMR use supported, no unsupported exclusions Long-term assignment in a well-supported community hospital environment Schedule Details Ongoing emergency department coverage 37 hours of physician coverage weekly 36 hours of NP/PA coverage weekly Additional scheduling details discussed during presentation Practice Environment This opportunity is based within a 33-bed Emergency Department at a Level III Trauma Center serving the greater Michigan City region. Providers will work alongside experienced APPs, nursing teams, and hospital support staff within a structured environment designed for efficient patient flow and collaborative care. The department manages approximately 50,000 annual ED visits and utilizes EMR across all workflows. Clinical Scope Full-spectrum Emergency Medicine care in a trauma-capable setting Evaluation, stabilization, treatment, and disposition of all ages Procedures including moderate sedation and specialty care (ENT, Orthopedics, GYN, etc.) Trauma management and specialty care room utilization Documentation via EMR, with no unsupported exclusions Candidate Requirements Active, unrestricted Indiana Medical License and DEA registration with Indiana address Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM/AOBEM or equivalent) Minimum of five years of high-volume ED experience (>30,000 visits/year) BLS certification Why Physicians Move on This This assignment offers schedule stability, trauma-capable practice, and operational support in a community hospital setting.
