This role requires advanced clinical reasoning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and a commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.Key ResponsibilitiesClinical ExcellenceConduct comprehensive evaluations using standardized assessmentsDevelop and implement individualized treatment plansDeliver evidence-based interventions including sensory integration, behavioral strategies, and trauma-informed careAddress motor, sensory, cognitive, and adaptive functioningMonitor progress and adjust treatment plans based on outcomesUtilize assistive technology and adaptive equipment to improve independenceManage complex patient populations with co-occurring medical and behavioral conditionsInterdisciplinary CollaborationPartner with physicians, psychologists, nursing, and behavioral health teamsParticipate in treatment planning and care conferencesEnsure continuity of care across all service areasPatient & Family EngagementEducate caregivers on therapeutic techniques and home programsFoster a therapeutic environment focused on dignity, autonomy, and growthAdvocate for patient needs and access to resourcesQuality & ComplianceMaintain accurate and timely documentationAdhere to AOTA standards and regulatory requirementsParticipate in quality improvement initiatives and auditsSupervise COTAs as appropriateQualificationsEducation:Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy requiredMaster's or Doctorate (OTD) preferredExperience:Minimum 2 years of clinical experiencePediatric and/or neurodevelopmental experience preferredSkills:Strong clinical reasoning and therapeutic communicationExperience with sensory processing, behavioral interventions, and trauma-informed careAbility to manage complex behaviors and de-escalate crisis situationsStrong collaboration and documentation skillsLicensure & CertificationCurrent Texas OT license (required)NBCOT certificationBLS (American Heart Association or Red Cross)De-escalation training (within 30 days of hire)
