Position Overview: The Echo Cardiac Sonographer will perform echocardiographic studies to assist in the diagnosis and management of cardiovascular conditions. This role requires a high level of expertise in cardiac imaging, as well as strong analytical and communication skills to provide detailed and accurate diagnostic information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform and interpret transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms according to established protocols and physician orders.
- Evaluate and document the quality of images and measurements, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare and position patients for echocardiographic studies, explaining procedures and addressing patient concerns.
- Operate and maintain echocardiographic equipment, ensuring optimal performance and troubleshooting any issues.
- Collaborate with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to discuss findings and assist in developing patient care plans.
- Maintain detailed records of echocardiographic procedures, patient information, and diagnostic results.
- Adhere to safety protocols and infection control practices to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Stay current with advancements in echocardiography and cardiology to provide the highest standard of care.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Cardiovascular Technology, or a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Certification as an Echo Cardiac Sonographer (e.g., RDCS, RCS) from a recognized certifying body.
