Tech - Cath Lab/EP

Job Summary:
The Sonographer is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic ultrasounds, including echocardiograms and vascular studies, in a fast-paced environment. The role requires collaborating effectively with physicians, patients, and department personnel to ensure accurate and timely imaging services.

Responsibilities:

• Perform echocardiograms, vascular studies, and other ultrasound procedures with precision and efficiency.
• Assist physicians during radiology procedures, including pericardiocentesis and thrombin injections.
• Maintain equipment and supplies, ensuring safety protocols and proper sanitation are followed.
• Organize workload efficiently during high-volume periods and communicate pending exams and pertinent information to team members.
• Respond promptly to on-call callbacks and arrive within 30 minutes as per policy.
• Promote positive relationships within the department and participate in staff meetings and in-services.

Qualifications:

• Hold an ARDMS certification in Sonography.
• Possess at least 2 years of ultrasound experience, specifically in echocardiography and vascular studies.
• Be registered as an Echo/Vascular Sonographer and able to perform Echocardiograms with Definity Contrast.
• Demonstrate the ability to start IVs independently.
• Have MediTech experience and familiarity with ultrasound equipment, including Philips CVX Epiq, Philips Elite Epiq, and Vasculab ABI machines.
• Be current with BLS (AHA) certification.
