Inventory Specialist

Every product that moves through a warehouse leaves a trail. When that trail is accurate, the whole operation runs smoothly. When it is off by even a little, everyone feels it.

Someone has to be the person who notices. The one who checks the truck against the paperwork, counts what is on the shelf, and asks why the numbers do not match. A leading food company is looking for that person.

The Role

As an Inventory Specialist, you are the guardian of accurate counts. You unload incoming shipments, check everything against the paperwork, and make sure each item lands in the right spot with the right label. Then you keep the records honest through cycle counts, audits and quick detective work whenever something comes up short, over or missing. You report to the warehouse manager or inventory supervisor and work alongside the shipping, receiving and fulfillment teams.

What You Will Do

• Unload incoming shipments, containers and trucks safely and efficiently.
• Verify received products against purchase orders, packing lists and receiving documents.
• Perform daily or scheduled cycle counts so physical inventory matches system records.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies, including shortages, overages and misplaced items.
• Update inventory quantities and locations in the warehouse management system or inventory software.
• Inspect incoming merchandise for damage, incorrect quantities and labeling issues.
• Make sure products are properly labeled, identified and stored in their designated locations.
• Assist with inventory audits, stock reconciliation and inventory adjustments.
• Keep accurate records of inventory receipts, transfers and movements.
• Coordinate with shipping, receiving and fulfillment teams to protect inventory accuracy.
• Keep warehouse storage areas clean, organized and safe.
• Report inventory issues and receiving discrepancies to the right supervisor.

What It Takes

• Previous warehouse or inventory experience.
• Hands on experience unloading shipments and receiving merchandise.
• Previous cycle counting experience.
• Working knowledge of inventory control, stock organization and warehouse procedures.
• Basic computer skills and comfort entering inventory data.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when counting and verifying products, along with good organizational, communication and problem solving skills.
• Reliable attendance, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Nice to have: experience with barcode scanners, RF scanners, WMS or ERP software, inventory reconciliation, forklift or electric pallet jack, or shipping, receiving and distribution operations.

Schedule and Flexibility

This is a full time role.

Work Environment

This is an active, hands on job. You will stand and walk for long stretches, and you will bend, reach and handle products during unloading and inventory counts. You will also lift and move packages and materials as the role requires.
