Pharmacy TechnicianSign On Bonus!!! $1,000Application Deadline: 10/03/2026Job Summary:The Pharmacy Technician supports the safe, effective, and efficient operation of the organization's pharmacy department by assisting pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining drug inventory, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Working under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, the pharmacy technician performs a variety of technical and clerical tasks, including medication preparation, unit dose packaging, sterile and non-sterile compounding, inventory control, and medication delivery to patient care areas. The Pharmacy Technician plays a key role in ensuring accurate and timely medication distribution, contributing to high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.Schedule:.6 FTEEvening Shift6 including sterile IV admixtures, chemotherapy, and total parenteral nutrition (TPN), in accordance with USP <797> and <800> standardsRepackage bulk medications into unit-dose packaging, ensuring proper labeling and documentationAccurately pull, deliver, and refill medications into automated dispensing systems (e.g., Pyxis), ensuring correct medication stocking and appropriate datingRefill crash cart trays and emergency kits, ensuring all contents are accurate and within expirationDeliver medications including controlled substances promptly and accurately throughout the facility, following chain-of-custody proceduresOrder medications and pharmacy supply according to par levels and usage patternsReceive, unpack, and store medication deliveries, ensuring accurate counts and rotation of stockRotate stock regularly and check for expired or recalled medications throughout the facilityMaintain medication barcodes within pharmacy software systems for accurate tracking and dispensingUtilize pharmacy software systems to manage medications including preparation, distribution, documentation, and inventory controlPrint and analyze system reports to support medication management and complianceTroubleshoot issues within the medication distribution system and communicate effectively with the pharmacist and other key stakeholders to resolve problemsAnswer and screen incoming phone calls, directing inquiries to the appropriate pharmacy staffParticipate in medication safety initiatives and support the implementation of quality improvement strategiesAssist with other clerical or administrative dutiesDispose of medications in accordance with organizational policy, state, and federal regulationsMaintain a clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy workspace, adhering to infection control, safety, and regulatory guidelinesMaintain a limited formulary and follow procedures for handling non-formulary medicationsEnsure compliance with all state and federal drug laws and regulations governed by the State Board of Pharmacy, Joint Commission standards, Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), and Food and Drug Administration (FDA)Report medication errors, near misses, and adverse drug reactions promptly in accordance with organizational policies and proceduresMaintain patient and employee confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and organizations policiesActively participate in organizational alert responses and emergency proceduresEffectively communicate with pharmacists, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely medication deliveryParticipate in the orientation, training, and mentoring of new pharmacy staff members and pharmacy studentsActively participate in all relevant departmental meetings, training, and continuing education to support team communication and professional developmentUse the organization's secure messaging platform in accordance with departmental protocols, requiredRegistration with the state of Wisconsin as a pharmacy technician requiredCertified Pharmacy Technician or certification within three (3) months of hirePrevious experience as a Pharmacy
