Emergency Room Technician I - Evenings/Nights

Job Summary Emergency Room Technician I position with a $1,500 sign‑on bonus, starting rate $15.76 per hour, with opportunities for higher pay based on experience and up to $3 shift differential for evening, night, or weekend shifts. Responsibilities Performs basic patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and maintains the patient care and unit environment in line with policies, procedures, and practices. Meets qualifications to provide care for patients in the specific age range on their assigned clinical area, promotes a caring and healing environment for patient‑centered care. Triages patient care by identifying, observing and documenting the physical needs of the patient and families. Reports changes in patient condition to Registered Nurse. Assists patient care staff by performing procedures including wound care, splinting, and EKGs. Provides care that may relate to rehabilitation to carry out multidisciplinary care plan for each patient. Performs unit desk clerk functions when needed. Obtains and maintains the integrity of specimens in accordance with policy and procedure, according to physician order. Uses two patient identifiers with proper labeling. Monitors blood glucose. Conducts urine, stool, sputum, and rapid testing; assists with transporting patients to other areas of the hospital for tests. Transports medications to and from pharmacy and within the unit; also transports blood products to and from Blood Bank. Assists patients with daily activities including undressing and dressing as well as lifting and positioning them to complete certain procedures. Has access to non‑controlled medication storage and supply areas and can transport non‑controlled medications to meet clinic and unit needs. Coordinates relations between care providers, patients, and visitors. Promotes a caring and healing environment for patient‑centered care. Work is typically performed in a clinical environment. Position Details Full time, evenings/nights position (36 hours per week). 3–12 hour shifts (7 pm – 7:30 am). Every other weekend and holiday rotation required.
