This opportunity will provide exposure to large-scale energy and construction operations while supporting senior leadership in a fast-paced environment.LOCATIONAmes, IA 50010 (Onsite – 100% Lab Environment)COMPENSATION$20-25 per hour (full benefits offered)SCHEDULEMonday – Friday5/40 Schedule (Standard 40-hour work week)100% onsiteCONTRACT TERM1.5 years, 5/4/26-12/31/27 with strong likelihood of extensionPOSITION OVERVIEW – Lab Technician IThe Lab Technician will perform laboratory analyses supporting the production, sale, and distribution of renewable fuel products. This role requires strong attention to detail, technical aptitude, and a commitment to safety and data integrity. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced lab environment and experienced with analytical testing methods and instrumentation.RESPONSIBILITIESLaboratory Testing (80%)• Perform standard and nonstandard analytical testing using wet chemistry, combustion/elemental methods, and gas chromatography (GC)Execute all phases of sample testing including receipt, preparation, analysis, data entry, and disposalOperate and monitor laboratory instruments (e.g., GC, ICP-OES) to ensure accurate and compliant performanceReview, interpret, and validate analytical data using quality control and statistical toolsMonitor instrument performance in alignment with Statistical Quality Control (SQC) standards and troubleshoot issuesCommunicate analytical results and technical findings to internal stakeholders; prepare reports as neededLaboratory Upkeep and Maintenance (10%)• Monitor inventory of chemicals, gases, and lab supplies; initiate reorders as neededManage laboratory waste in accordance with established proceduresMaintain cleanliness and organization of lab workspacesPerform routine maintenance, calibration, and performance checks on lab equipmentDocumentation, Safety, and Records Management (10%)• Follow all safety protocols and Operational Excellence standards; support continuous safety improvementsMaintain accurate records of methods, data, and analyses in lab notebooks and electronic systemsPrepare and update SOPs, technical documents, and reportsEnsure confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive data• Perform additional duties as assignedREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS• 1+ years of analytical laboratory experience (wet chemistry, GC, elemental analysis, quality control)Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, SharePoint, etc.)Strong attention to detail and organizational skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple prioritiesInterest in renewable fuels or energy sector preferredEDUCATION• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or related STEM fieldINTERVIEW PROCESS• Virtual first-round panel interviewIn-person second-round panel interview (onsite) #J-18808-Ljbffr
