Whole Hearted Senior Home Care is a growing New England non-medical home care agency, and we're adding part-time caregivers who come from a nursing assistant background. If you hold an LNA/CNA license now, or you held one in the past and let it lapse, this role is built for you. Because our care is non-medical, an active license is not required — what we want is the training, the judgment, and the hands-on personal care skills that come with it.

Part-time here means a real schedule, not a waiting list. You'll work a consistent set of shifts each week — roughly 25 hours — with regular clients you get to know. When you want more, extra shifts are usually available.

What you'll do

• Provide hands-on personal care in clients' homes: bathing, dressing, toileting, transfers, mobility support, and medication reminders

• Prepare meals, keep the home safe and tidy, and provide companionship — the parts of the day that keep clients living independently

• Follow each client's care plan and document your visit in our scheduling app before you leave

• Be the first caregiver into a new client's home when needed, working from a briefing and care plan from the office rather than a hands-on handoff

• Communicate with the office promptly about your schedule, client changes, and anything that doesn't look right

• Treat clients, coworkers, and the office team with the same respect you expect back

What we're looking for

• Current or former NH or MA LNA/CNA license — active or lapsed both qualify

• At least 3 years of caregiving experience — home care, assisted living, nursing home, or hospital

• Reliability. You keep the schedule you agreed to. Your clients plan their week around you.

• Communication. You answer the office, confirm your shifts, and speak up early when something is off.

• Compassion. You treat every client like they matter, because they do.

• Comfortable working on your own in a client's home

• Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and current auto insurance

• Ability to pass a background check; TB test and physical from the last year (we can help you get these)

• Dementia experience is a plus and earns a higher rate

How part-time works here — please read

• A consistent schedule. We agree on your weekly hours up front and build your clients around them. This isn't fill-in work; it's the same days, most weeks.

• Extra shifts are yours if you want them. We track who picks up additional shifts each month. The people who say yes get first call on the best hours, stronger reviews, and the first look at full-time openings.

• New client starts. You may be asked to take a client you haven't met, with a full rundown from the office. Willingness to do this is part of the role and earns a higher rate.

• Where you stand on hours. If client hours ever dip, full-time caregivers keep their hours first, then part-time, then per diem. That's not the situation today — we're growing and have more shifts than we can fill — but you should know how it works.

• Shorter orientation for LNAs. Your license training covers most of our core curriculum, so licensed and former LNAs move through orientation faster and start with clients sooner.

Part-time caregivers who show up, communicate, and take extra shifts are the first ones we move to full-time as we add clients. Yearly reviews look at availability, willingness to fill in when asked, willingness to travel, and client feedback — and raises are based on those.
