Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Director of Pharmacy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is for an Interim Director of Pharmacy (DOP) and Pharmacy in Charge (PIC) role at a 165-bed hospital specializing in behavioral health. Located in West Virginia, this position involves leading a pharmacy team supporting an average daily census of 130 patients. The role begins August 31, 2026, covering until a permanent DOP is hired, following the retirement of the current director.
Responsibilities:
Oversee pharmacy operations as the PIC, including staffing and administrative duties
Manage pharmacy staff consisting of one full-time pharmacist, four per diem pharmacists, and approximately 2.6 full-time equivalent technicians
Ensure efficient pharmacy services including order filling, delivery, and inventory management with technician support
Utilize the HCS order entry system and Omnicell automation, with training provided onsite
Maintain compliance with applicable regulations and hospital policies
Participate in on-call coverage after shifts and on weekends
Collaborate with clinical teams in a behavioral health setting
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Current West Virginia pharmacist licensure is required
Pharmacy management experience with preference given to hospital and Omnicell system familiarity
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to work business casual attire and adapt to a dynamic environment
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with on-call responsibilities after shifts and on weekends
