Job Title: Machine Operator Value Add Area

Job Description

The Machine Operator in the Value Add Area supports postproduction operations by performing secondary processes on stamped and fabricated metal parts. This role focuses on final finishing, light assembly, inspection, and packaging to ensure parts consistently meet customer quality and delivery requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform secondary and valueadd operations on metal parts, including deburring, tapping, drilling, grinding, washing, and light assembly.
• Operate basic shop equipment such as drill presses, tapping machines, arbor presses, wash systems, and a variety of hand and power tools.
• Conduct visual and basic dimensional inspections to verify part quality and adherence to specifications.
• Use measuring tools and follow blueprints and work instructions to ensure parts meet required tolerances and quality standards.
• Sort, label, and package finished parts for shipment in accordance with established procedures.
• Follow all safety procedures and plant policies while operating equipment and handling materials.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation in line with 5S and continuous improvement practices.
• Identify, document, and promptly report quality issues or defects to supervision for corrective action.
• Support production goals by meeting efficiency, throughput, and quality expectations on assigned operations.
• Assist with material handling tasks such as loading parts into machines or wash systems as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure smooth flow of parts through machining, deburring, washing, inspection, and assembly processes.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of UNION, IL.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
