Job Overview Location: CHA Somerville Campus Category: Human and Social Services Department: 6 East/West Child Psychiatry Job Type: 32 Hours per week Work Days: Day / Evening, from 7am-3:30pm and 3pm-11:30pm, with E/O weekend rotation and holidays as assigned Hours/Week: 32.00 Union Name: SH MNA $10k Sign‑On Bonus (pro‑rated for part‑time employees) for newly hired experienced RNs with 2 years of experience in the specialty hired for. Unit Description The 6 East and 6 West Child Unit is an 18‑bed secured psychiatric unit providing care for children between the ages of 3 and 11. The unit is located at the CHA Somerville Campus. A multi‑disciplinary approach is used to provide patient and family centered care. The treatment focus is on assessment, stabilization, and after‑care treatment planning. Our approach is trauma‑informed, patient and family centered, and evidence‑based. Responsibilities Provide acute inpatient psychiatric care to children 3‑12 years old, adolescents 13‑17, and children with neuro‑developmental disorders in a secure inpatient center. Perform patient assessments, facilitate stabilization, coordinate family involvement, and develop after‑care treatment plans within a trauma‑informed, evidence‑based framework. Qualifications and Experience Current Massachusetts RN license required American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is required BSN or ASN degree required 1‑2 years acute inpatient psychiatric experience strongly preferred In addition, newly hired candidates are required to successfully complete a job‑specific physical test Please note that the final offer may vary within the listed Pay Range, based on a candidate's experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.
