About the Position

The unit has 25 beds and maintains a patient ratio of 2:1. Staffing includes mid-level providers, trauma surgeons, and respiratory therapists available around the clock. Physical and occupational therapy services are available during the day shift. Equipment includes GE monitors, Hamilton Bipaps, HiFlows, Puritan ventilators, and Hemospheres. Documentation is performed using a specific electronic health record system. Scheduling requires 12 shifts per month, with four weekend shifts included. Floating to other areas may occur on a rotation basis, prioritizing travelers. Patient experience is emphasized with updated MyCare boards during bedside shift reports. Candidates must have strong telemetry and critical care experience for consideration. Preference will be given to those with open heart and temporary pacing experience, as well as Swan-Ganz catheter skills. Common procedures performed include intubation, central line, and arterial line placement, along with chest tube placement. The preferred dress code is scrubs, with no specific color requirements.
