Position Title: Plumbing Manager (Field Operations Manager) Reports To: General Manager or Operations Manager Status: Full‑time, Regular position Category: Plumbing Location Name: Coastal Air Service Experts Heating and Air Location Address: 79 Columbia Dr #105, Pooler, GA 31322 Position Summary The Plumbing Manager leads staff members that install, repair and maintain plumbing in both residential and commercial buildings. The Plumbing Manager routinely works directly with plumbers, service and install technicians, dispatch personnel, sales representatives, and other managers to ensure customer satisfaction while meeting departmental goals and objectives. Serving as a senior company representative, the Plumbing Manager often communicates directly with customers, vendors and suppliers to ensure accurate communication of job or project status and requirements. Key Responsibilities Directs daily operations of the Plumbing Service Department by modeling effective performance and management of tasks. Schedules, directs and provides technical support for plumbers to meet service demands and customers’ expectations. Recruits, interviews, hires and trains plumbers and apprentice plumbers as required, meeting workload demands and company or customer expectations. Supervises and directs plumbers to effectively perform plumbing repair, replacement, installation and other duties required to ensure customer satisfaction. Reviews plumbers’ work to ensure quality meets established standards, techniques and safety requirements; recommends improvements to elevate quality and productivity. Conducts performance appraisals, reviews and establishes improvement goals per company requirements. Establishes and maintains a regular training program to ensure plumbers and apprentice plumbers are trained on latest service techniques and safety procedures for equipment and general working conditions. Conducts group and one‑on‑one meetings for training, evaluation and general communication; participates in or conducts regularly scheduled departmental safety and informational meetings. Communicates regularly with dispatch to ensure appropriate scheduling based on skill level, efficiency and training requirements. Reports to dispatch daily on project information, estimated time to complete jobs, labor hours and parts or material used. Maintains communication with vendors and factory personnel concerning warranty issues, product recall notices, operational problems with products and equipment sold and serviced by the Plumbing Department. Develops and monitors budgets, goals and objectives to insure departmental profitability. Reviews work orders, invoices and time reports for accuracy and ensures timely cash flow and minimal accounts receivable. Specifies and orders required parts in a timely fashion to meet work deadlines. Ensures compliance with company/department policies by all plumbing staff. Oversees assigned service vehicles, monitors maintenance and use, and ensures vehicles are used according to company policy. Monitors service vehicles for condition to support efficient work and maintains adequate inventory of parts and materials. Keeps current with latest product training, coordinates training, and maintains training records to ensure personnel maintain proficiency in maintenance, startup, troubleshooting and repair of supported equipment. Generates sales leads, promotes and develops maintenance/service agreements, estimates and generates bids for contract projects. Manages larger installation, startup and commissioning projects; coordinates and leads a team of plumbers and/or installing contractors; performs pre‑startup inspections and completes turnover of equipment to owner. Collaborates with other departmental managers to achieve company and departmental goals and objectives. Performs other tasks and responsibilities as required to maintain efficient department operations. Desired Skills And Qualifications Master Plumber with ability to be a licensed office holder. Excellent customer service and sales skills. Five years of plumbing management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Some post‑high school education from college, trade school or military. In‑depth knowledge and understanding of plumbing trades. Ability to read, interpret, utilize and train on manuals, schematics and control circuits related to plumbing systems. Technical aptitude with knowledge of local codes and resources to find solutions. Excellent leadership skills to enhance team productivity and quality of work. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong conflict management skills. Detail oriented and highly organized with ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments. Good computer skills: proficiency in common office applications such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook. Strong personal desire for improvement and motivation to inspire technicians to improve. Clean, professional appearance and pride in workmanship. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Willingness to work a non‑standard schedule (nights, weekends and holidays as required).
