Job Description Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the Plant Accountant responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following: Compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries documenting business transactions. Prepare GL accounts and bank reconciliations. Prepare financial statements and other reports to summarize the company’s financial position. Maintain the accounting policy database. Identify control gaps, develop and implement appropriate control procedures to resolve control deficiencies. Assist in preparation for internal and external audits. Develop financial analysis and cost accounting skills. Oversee payroll and accounts payable functions. Perform other job‑related duties as required or assigned. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. Solid understanding of accounting concepts and GAAP. Proven track record of working in a team environment with various departments. Experience working with an ERP system. Three (3) years plant manufacturing experience. Approximately 10% overnight travel. May occasionally need to work evening or weekend hours. Preferred Requirements: Packaging industry experience. AS400 experience. Competencies Very strong PC skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel. Self‑directed, excellent initiative and organizational skills. Ability to handle multiple demands with a sense of urgency, drive, and energy. Self‑motivated, analytical problem solver with excellent communication skills. Strong organizational, written and verbal skills. Strong work ethic, able to work with little supervision. Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, ensuring completion. Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The associate may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, colour vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Working Conditions Generally works in an office setting but will be required to perform some job duties inside a plant environment. While performing the duties, the associate may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic, a wide range of temperatures, and the noise level is frequently loud.
