As a Medical Assistant within Richmond County Health Department, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.

Starting salary $37,500.00

Drawing blood (phlebotomy) Collecting urine, stool, or sputum samples Labeling and preparing specimens correctly Ensuring samples are transported safely Performing specific tests such as PPD placements / readings Collect blood, urine and other specimens Perform basic lab tests Prepare samples for analysis Use laboratory equipment Maintain sterile environment Follow safety and HIPAA regulations Record patient and test information accurately

All East Central Health District 6 employees are deemed essential workers in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event including but not limited to: staffing a shelter, working at a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or working at a Point of Dispensing site (POD). If you are called on to participate, you are required to report to the designated site as a condition of employment, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours.

High School Diploma or GED (plus on the job training Certificate or diploma from an accredited medical assisting program or Associate degree in medical assisting or related healthcare field Preferred Qualifications: M&M (current EMR) basic knowledge preferred MAPEP Under the pre-employment fitness-for-duty this position is considered a: Category 4: Health-related: Positions where medical knowledge and skills are required, such as nurses or therapists.
