Mechanical Assembler I (Manufacturing)

Position Summary RIX Industries is a technology-focused company specializing in gas generation systems, precision compressor solutions, and cryogenic cooling technologies. The Production Assembler 1 is responsible for installing and assembling all compressor units using specified mechanical components, fabricated parts, and assembly hardware. Responsibilities Provide timely, high-quality assembly of compressors, generators, and associated parts. Assemble compressors and subassemblies according to blueprints, sketches, schematics, and written specifications. Overhaul and repair used compressors or components to meet customer needs. Control manufacturing expenses through proper use of supplies and equipment while meeting labor standards. Package products prior to shipping and notify supervisor of supply levels. Maintain effective communication within the department and with company functions. Adhere to all safety policies, maintain plant facilities and equipment, and participate in cross training within the Production Department. Set up and test-run completed machines through fixed test cycles, test for noise and vibration, and perform overhauls and rebuilds. Perform all other duties in the best interest of the company as directed by the Production Supervisor and Plant Manager. Qualifications Degree from technical school or equivalent combination of education and work experience. One year experience as a mechanical assembler or mechanic in any related field. Ability to read and understand structural drawings, schematics, and operating manuals. Valid driver’s license. Ability to perform calculations such as percentages, ratios, and fractions. Basic computer skills and ability to use a variety of software applications. Knowledge of air and gas compressors, generators, and basic manufacturing tooling and equipment. Strong oral and written communication skills. Citizenship: U.S. Citizen or qualified U.S. Person in accordance with ALU 22CFR 120.15. May require the ability to obtain DOD security clearance. Preferred: Advanced coursework in mechanical assembly discipline; specific experience in manufacture of air and gas compressors and generators. Physical Requirements Regular exposure to manufacturing, warehouse, and office environment; must follow safe operating procedures near moving equipment, mechanical parts, and lift trucks. Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch, reach, and lift; lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods at a desk or table, as well as machine tools or printers.
