This state-of-the-art unit will care for surgical patients across trauma, burn, and general surgery, with telemetry monitoring in both general care and step-down settings. The unit will also feature accredited epilepsy monitoring services, delivering advanced seizure management through continuous video and EEG monitoring. This role assists the health care team with the prevention of illness and injury, maintenance of wellness, and provision of comfort. The Nurse Clinician provides direction, education, leadership and accountability for program development, implementation and evaluation in area of responsibility. This role includes professional development and empowerment of staff as well as management of resources to promote desired outcomes with attention to quality, efficiency and cost.Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire:Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible or compact stateLicensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment:Current RN Licensure in VirginiaAHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalentExperience REQUIRED:5 years nursing experience requiredMinimum of one year experience in the position's specialty patient population or practice settingExperience PREFERRED:Experience in staff education and professional development (orientation, preceptorship, in-services education, etc.)Education/training REQUIRED:Bachelor's degree in nursing. Must be enrolled in a Master's degree program at the time of application and must be complete within 36 months of hire.Education/training PREFERRED:Master's Degree in Nursing or a related field.
