Junior Technical Writer

Technical WriterYou'll provide technical writing support to pursue new business, document existing products/services, generate program deliverables, and provide documentation and support for various internal functions, processes, and accreditations/certifications. Responsibilities include:Under general direction, write technical copy for various types of reports, responses, and briefings to include White Papers, RFIs, RFPs, proposals, technical documentation, etc., targeted to a wide range of audiencesPrepare, review, edit, and maintain program and operations technical documents (e.g., Standard Operation Procedures (SOP)/Concepts of Operations (CONOPS), user guides/manuals, and technical documentation)Work with customers, internal development teams, and Subject Matter Experts to translate their functional requirements into detailed technical specifications and publicationsRecommend and develop a variety of technical documentation based on client needs; Standardize documentation by creating and implementing templates for all document typesOrganize and format documents (including layout and design) in compliance with applicable requirementsMaintain, update, and contribute to document libraries and knowledge management systems to enable ease of document storage, retrieval, updates, and reviewsOrganize and consolidate information from multiple sources, and express technical information in written form that is comprehensible to a wide audience of readersInterpret, absorb, and synthesize large quantities of engineering or technical information for non-technical readersDevelop graphical representations of complex processes and collaborate with artists to develop technical illustrationsPerform reviews and assure the quality of all written deliverables in support of a wide range of customer requirementsEnsure the production of clear documents that guide and educate the reader, and apply expertise in client delivery process, tradecraft, and intelligence standardsCollaborate among varied teams of technical, administrative, teammate and/or customer personnel, and communicate effectively (e.g., internal team messaging, work assignments/instructions, schedules, etc.) to complete tasksParticipate in special projects, as requiredRequired Skills:Must be a U.S. Citizen3+ years of Technical Writing experience within the US Federal Government/Intelligence CommunityA Bachelor's degree in relevant fieldMust have technical understanding of Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning disciplinesFamiliarity with ISO 9001Experience in production and/or editing of technical documents to include specific experience in writing for non-technical audiencesFluid technical writing and editing skills, including the use of AP Style and/or government agency directed style guidesExperience with creating and maintaining government records associated with cybersecurity activities, documentation, and SOPsUnderstand basic concepts and writing methodologies (to include basic grammar concepts) responsible for writing technical copy for various types of documents for a program/project of similar complexityExperienced user of the latest release of Microsoft Office (or equivalent) products to include MS Word, PowerPoint, and Visio etc.Excellent written and oral communication, risk-management, and problem-solving skillsKnowledge of DoD requirements for manuals and written materialsCompensation Range: $70,000 - $80,000Our compensation includes other indirect financial components designed to support employees' total well-being, which should be considered when evaluating our competitive benefits package.
