Senior Test Engineer - Server Hardware Validation & Debug

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Test Engineer to lead advanced validation, debug, and root cause analysis efforts for Intel-based server motherboard platforms. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who can quickly become a technical contributor while driving improvements in test methodologies, validation strategies, and product quality.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience debugging complex server hardware in a production environment, a strong understanding of Intel processor board architectures and digital interfaces, and the ability to work cross-functionally with design, BIOS, firmware, and manufacturing teams to resolve complex technical issues.

Key Responsibilities

Hardware Validation & Debug

• Lead advanced hardware debug and root cause analysis for Intel-based server motherboard platforms
• Diagnose complex system-level hardware issues using industry-standard diagnostic tools
• Analyze failures and implement corrective actions to improve product performance and reliability
• Support board bring-up, validation, and production issue resolution

Test Development & Validation

• Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive:
• Test plans
• Test procedures
• Validation strategies
• Test scripts
• Verify hardware functionality, reliability, and performance against engineering requirements
• Continuously improve validation methodologies to increase test coverage and efficiency

Production Support

• Support manufacturing and production teams by troubleshooting hardware failures and improving first-pass yield
• Investigate production issues and provide timely technical solutions
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineering to improve test processes and product quality
• Drive corrective and preventive actions based on production data and failure analysis

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Hardware Design, BIOS, Firmware, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to resolve product issues
• Communicate technical findings and recommendations to engineering leadership and project teams
• Participate in design reviews and support product development activities

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve testing through automation, tooling enhancements, and workflow optimization
• Standardize validation processes and documentation
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in hardware validation and debug
• Establish and maintain high standards for test quality and execution

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in:
• Electrical Engineering
• Computer Engineering
• Or a related engineering discipline

Experience

• 5-10 years of experience in hardware validation, system-level debug, or test engineering
• Experience debugging Intel processor boards and server hardware platforms
• Experience supporting production manufacturing environments
• Ability to quickly become an independent technical contributor with minimal ramp-up time

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of Intel server architecture
• Extensive experience debugging complex server motherboards
• Strong understanding of digital interfaces
• Experience with hardware debug tools, including:
• Intel ITP
• JTAG
• Oscilloscopes
• Logic analyzers
• Experience developing and executing validation plans and test procedures
• Strong root cause analysis and troubleshooting skills

• Knowledge of quality systems, reliability engineering, or Six Sigma methodologies
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical initiatives
