Nurse Manager - Behavioral Health

Responsibilities The Nurse Manager plans, implements, and evaluates the delivery of overall nursing care to patients. He/she provides managerial support in conjunction with clinical leadership by supervising and evaluating all nursing and patient care personnel. The role contributes to the facility through commitment to nursing goals, supervision of clinical staff, and participation on the treatment team(s). Create, implement, and enforce clinical staffing plans for direct reports, ensuring sufficient nursing personnel to meet patient care needs and regulatory requirements. Provide leadership and direction in accordance with client hospital guidelines and consistent with nursing and program goal philosophies. Foster the professional growth and development of nursing staff by identifying needs, developing training plans, and encouraging formal continuing education. Monitor nursing personnel performance continuously and conduct regular performance evaluations for clinical direct reports. Collaborate with physicians, multidisciplinary team members, and outside health and social agencies to ensure efficient discharge planning and accurate documentation at admission and transfer. Audit and review performance and documentation of direct reports for consistency and accuracy. Assure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards and measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and regulatory standards. Maintain continuity among nursing teams through documentation and communication. Perform the duties of an RN as needed or when there is a shortage in staff. Orient or mentor new nursing staff. Apply crisis prevention skills. Manage anger, fear, hostility, and violence of others. Manage stress appropriately. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills. Show proficiency in mathematical and analytical skills applicable to clinical duties. Exhibit above‑average organization skills. Prioritize multiple tasks effectively. Be proficient in applicable software applications. Perform other duties as assigned or required by this position. Benefit Highlights Competitive compensation. Qualifications BSN required with previous acute care inpatient psychiatric experience in a hospital and supervisory experience. 5 years of behavioral health nursing experience. CPR certification.
