Behavioral Health Consultant

Salary Range: $44,583.33 - $66,666.66 Summary: The School-Based Health Center (SBHC) Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) Lead position requires an independent license such as a LCSW (licensed clinical social worker) or LCPC (licensed clinical professional counselor) to practice in a SBHC setting. The SBHC BHC Lead is assigned to one of Tapestry 360 Health's SBHCs and provides students with counseling, groups, screenings, and risk assessments. The SBHC BHC Lead provides supervision and direction for the SBHC BHC Team. The individual in this position must be comfortable providing telehealth counseling, working in a fast-paced environment, with a flexible schedule and adept in working closely with medical providers, school staff and other care team members. This range represents the potential compensation for the role based on experience, tenure, and performance over time. Most new employees can expect an initial offer within the lower portion of the range, reflecting factors such as prior experience, internal equity, and organizational budget. Essential Duties:
- Supervises behavioral health services delivery across the SBHCs.
- Provides direct supervision for the SBHC BHC team including performance evaluations.
- Assists in hiring, onboarding, and training new SBHC BH staff.
- Provides direct student care individually or in groups, in person or via telehealth, assisting students achieve therapeutic goals in accordance with their treatment plan, and coordinates care to improve students' overall wellbeing via 30-60-minute counseling appointments.
- See students immediately after the students' appointment with their medical provider through warm hand-offs and develop a plan of action to address the presenting need.
- Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to assist and collaborate with educators and medical providers in recognizing students at risk, treat students' behavioral health and psychological disorders and provide the students' care team with timely feedback about the students' care, treatment recommendations and consultations.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse student and staff population and use of interpreter services as needed.
- Basic understanding of primary care and nontechnical knowledge of psychotropic and other relevant medications.
- Provide referrals/resource information on care coordination and access to external programs for patients as needed.
- Develops and maintains relationships with external providers, staff, and programs.
- Attends, participates in and reports on various internal and external meetings and trainings.
- Excellent computer skills and the ability to work in an electronic health record. Maintains documentation of the patient's treatment by using current and accurate ICD-Coding and CPT coding.
- Establishes and maintains a professional and therapeutic relationship within the standards of patient profiles, confidentiality laws and the newest clinical research available.
- Attend trainings, workshops, and other relevant professional development to maintain licensure.
- Adheres to professional standards as outlined by governmental bodies, NASW (and/or other appropriate professional associations), private funding sources, organization plans/policies and organization's guidelines. Participates in periodic evaluative reviews and/or in house and external staff training.
- Master's degree in clinical social work, counseling, or clinical psychology; and three years of clinical practice experience working with youth in either a school, community health or mental health setting providing individual and group counseling.
- Clinical licensure in Illinois (e.g., LCSW, LCPC) is required.
- Supervisory or management experience preferred.
- English proficiency required.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of individuals or employees of an organization.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- The employee may be required to remain on Organization premises during breaks and/or meal periods and may be required to stay on Organization premises until their replacement arrives.
