Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity serving as a School Psychologist at a welcoming elementary school (TK-5th grade) located near Selah, WA. This position starts as soon as possible and continues through the last day of the school year, June 8th. You'll work a full-time, 40-hour week, with a collaborative schedule that allows some flexibility for before or after-school evaluation meetings.
You will be providing critical support to a vibrant community of about 500 students, including approximately 45 students with IEPs (excluding speech only), and assisting with 13 scheduled reevaluations this school year. There's also the possibility of occasionally supporting preschool evaluations, allowing you to make a meaningful impact on early learners’ success.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid certification/licensure as a School Psychologist
- Experience working in K-5 educational settings, with a focus on IEP development and student assessments
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially for working with educators, parents, and allied professionals
- Familiarity with special education processes, including reevaluations and eligibility assessments
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations and reevaluations for students referred to special education
- Support and participate in IEP meetings, ensuring interventions and accommodations are clearly communicated and tailored to student needs
- Collaborate with teachers and staff during the Monday late-start hour and throughout the week to promote student success
- Provide consultations and recommendations to address academic, social, and behavioral needs
- Occasionally assist with preschool evaluations as needed
