Locum MD (Medical Doctor), DO (Osteopathic Doctor) Otolaryngology

Description

 This role offers a valuable opportunity for an associate-level physician to deliver high-quality ear, nose, and throat care within a dedicated medical practice setting.

As a Locum Otolaryngologist, you will provide comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services for patients with conditions affecting the ears, nose, throat, head, and neck. You will work closely with the practice team to ensure continuity of care, accurate documentation, and patient-centered outcomes throughout your contract period.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and diagnose patients presenting with otolaryngologic conditions
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for ear, nose, and throat disorders
• Perform outpatient procedures and examinations in accordance with practice standards
• Manage acute and chronic conditions including sinusitis, hearing loss, and vertigo
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative care for surgical patients
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical records
• Collaborate with primary care physicians and other specialists to coordinate patient care
• Communicate diagnoses, treatment options, and follow-up instructions clearly to patients and families
• Adhere to clinical protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and practice meetings as needed

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
• Board certification or eligibility in Otolaryngology
• Active and unrestricted medical license in the state of California
• DEA registration and valid state controlled substance authorization
• Associate-level clinical experience in Otolaryngology
• Strong diagnostic, surgical, and clinical decision-making skills
• Excellent interpersonal and patient communication abilities
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Commitment to patient safety, ethical practice, and regulatory compliance
• Flexibility and adaptability to varying practice environments and schedules

Schedule: 24-hour beeper call shifts

Setting: Inpatient

Duties: ED call and inpatient consults

Case Types: Control of nasal and pharyngeal hemorrhage, orbital fractures, frontal sinus fractures, direct laryngoscopy, esophagoscopy, bronchoscopy, facial trauma, etc.

Must feel comfortable surgically treating facial fractures and lacerations

EMR: Cerner

Must be board-certified
