Position Summary Intersurgical is seeking a highly organized, people-focused Human Resources Coordinator to support day-to-day HR operations across our Indianapolis locations. This role will serve as an important connection point between employees, candidates, managers, and the HR team. The HR Coordinator will support the full employee lifecycle, including recruiting administration, onboarding, HRIS and employee records, benefits and payroll support, compliance, and general HR administration. This is an on-site, full-time, role. We’re looking for someone who enjoys both people and process and someone who can provide great employee experience while also making sure the details behind the scenes are accurate, timely, and organized. Key Responsibilities Onboarding & Employee Lifecycle Coordinate the pre-employment and onboarding process for new hires, including background checks, required documentation, system setup, and new-hire communication. Support new-hire orientation and onboarding activities across company locations. Process employee changes, transfers, promotions, status changes, and terminations. Coordinate offboarding activities and ensure required documentation and system updates are completed accurately and timely. Help create a consistent, welcoming employee experience from offer acceptance through departure. HR Operations & HRIS Maintain accurate employee information within the HRIS and other HR systems. Process routine employee data changes and conduct regular data audits. Maintain electronic and physical employee records in accordance with company policy and applicable requirements. Assist with HR reporting, headcount information, turnover reporting, and other workforce metrics. Support ongoing improvements to HR processes, workflows, forms, and standard operating procedures. Serve as a developing HRIS super-user and resource for the HR team. Recruiting Support Assist with job postings and requisition administration. Coordinate interviews and candidate communication. Initiate background checks and other pre-employment requirements. Prepare offer letters and new-hire documentation. Partner with HR Generalists and hiring managers to ensure candidates have a timely and positive recruiting experience. Support recruiting events, career fairs, and other talent acquisition activities as needed. Benefits & Payroll Support Support employee benefit enrollment, qualifying life events, and routine benefits questions. Assist with gathering and processing employee changes affecting payroll and benefits. Support payroll review and auditing activities as assigned. Help employees navigate routine HR, payroll, and benefits questions and appropriately escalate more complex issues. Compliance & HR Administration Complete and maintain I-9 and E-Verify documentation. Coordinate employment verifications and other routine employee documentation requests. Support administration and tracking of leaves of absence, workers’ compensation, unemployment claims, and other HR programs. Maintain required training and compliance records. Monitor the general HR inbox and respond to or appropriately route employee questions. Provide administrative and project support to the HR team as needed. Initial Location & Training Assignment To build a strong understanding of our employees, operations, and manufacturing environment, the HR Coordinator will initially spend significant time supporting HR activities at our Indianapolis manufacturing location on the west side of Indianapolis. For approximately the first 60 days, the anticipated schedule will include approximately three days per week at the manufacturing facility and two days per week at the downtown Indianapolis office. Following the initial onboarding period, the position is expected to be primarily based at the downtown Indianapolis office, with continued presence at the manufacturing location as business needs require. Qualifications Required 1–3 years of Human Resources, recruiting, administrative, or related professional experience. Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through consistently. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Comfort working with systems, technology, and employee data. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion. Strong customer service mindset and ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization. Previous experience with an HRIS or payroll system (ADP preferred).
