Duties

The duties include:

• Providing comprehensive medication therapy management for oncology and hematology patients
• Reviewing, verifying, and adjusting chemotherapy and biologic regimens for indication, dose, and toxicity
• Monitoring therapeutic response, adverse effects, drug interactions, and organ function
• Counseling patients and families on chemotherapy, biologics, and side-effect management
• Managing infusion-related and hypersensitivity reactions in clinic settings
• Providing pharmacokinetic consultations and therapeutic drug monitoring
• Assisting in supportive care management including pain, nausea, hypercalcemia, and infection
• Conducting telehealth assessments and managing treatment remotely
• Evaluating and approving non-formulary and restricted medication requests
• Providing drug information and recommendations to multidisciplinary care teams
• Coordinating with oncology, hematology, and infusion services to optimize therapy
• Precepting and training pharmacy residents, students, and new staff
• Educating nursing, pharmacy, and physician staff on chemotherapy and cancer pharmacotherapy
• Designing, supervising, and supporting post-doctoral oncology residency training
• Participating in and publishing oncology-related clinical research and case studies
• Reviewing oncology order sets and formulary content for accuracy and policy compliance
• Preparing drug utilization evaluations and quality assurance reports
• Serving as liaison between oncology pharmacy and hospital departments
• Representing Pharmacy Service in institutional committees and initiatives
• Maintaining licensure, certifications, and continuing education
• Ensuring adherence to safety procedures and proper use of protective equipment
• Complying with patient privacy, computer security, and documentation standards
