Brief Intervention Social Worker - LCSW required

Location: Gulf Coast Medical Center – 13681 Doctor's Way, Fort Myers, FL 33912 Department: Trauma Services – Support Work Type: Full Time Shift: Shift 1/8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Minimum to Midpoint Pay Rate: $30.32 – $39.42 / hour Summary Join our Trauma Services team and play a vital role in supporting patients during some of the most challenging moments of their lives. Responsibilities As a Brief Intervention Social Worker, conduct drug and alcohol screening assessments and provide brief interventions to inpatient trauma patients for the SBIRT program. Conduct follow-up therapeutic interventions as needed for patients who screen in risky drinking or drug-use categories; provide resources and coordinate referrals to treatment. Maintain patient records and assist in creating and implementing follow-up plans for patients who screen positive for risky behavior. Stay current with resources; build and maintain partnerships with area treatment programs and resources; provide educational handouts for screened and discharged patients. Collaborate closely with physicians and their staff to meet the needs of trauma patients and be an integral member of the healthcare team. Support SBIRT requirements for Level I and II Trauma Centers per Florida DOH and the American College of Surgeons, including mandated monthly reporting and audits. Provide Acute Stress and Post-Traumatic Stress screenings and resources for inpatient and outpatient trauma patients who meet criteria. Maintain a tracking log for trauma patients for monthly reporting and evaluation purposes. Report to the Director of Trauma Support Services. Qualifications Education: Master’s degree in Social Work required. Experience: 1 year of social work experience in a medical or healthcare setting preferred. License: Valid Florida License in Clinical Social Work (LCSW) required. Other: Strong communication and interpersonal skills; effective coping mechanisms; general computer skills; ability to multi-task.
