Job Title: Respiratory Care Practitioner RRT

Hours per Shift: 40 guaranteed hours, 48 maximum hours per week

Experience: Two years of respiratory care experience in a critical care setting preferred

License: Licensed by the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision as a Respiratory Care Practitioner

Certifications: Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care; Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support within three months of hire; Registered Respiratory Therapist credential within twelve months of hire

Must-Have: Graduation from an approved Respiratory Care Program

Knowledge of procedures and techniques of Respiratory Therapy

Clinical decision-making skills related to patient care and pulmonary and cardiac systems

Ability to interpret information to identify patient needs

Ability to work under stress

Good interpersonal skills

Ability to maintain a good working relationship with coworkers and staff

Some computer skills

Description: Under general supervision, provide services for the Respiratory Therapy Department in a timely and efficient manner. Administer therapeutic treatments as prescribed by attending medical staff. Record treatment information and patient treatment responses in their computerized medical record. Act as a resource person to medical staff. Perform invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing and monitoring of patients. Provide age-appropriate care to patients. Ensure that respiratory equipment is cleaned and maintained. Maintain necessary respiratory therapy records. Perform as part of the quick response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests. Perform other duties as assigned.
