About This Role
We are seeking a flexible, energetic, and dedicated Childcare Floater to join our team in Storrs, CT. In this role, you will support multiple classrooms, ranging from infants to preschoolers, by providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment. You will step in wherever needed to assist lead teachers, cover breaks, planning, and ensure daily operations run smoothly while maintaining high standards of care and early childhood education.
What You'll Do- Assist classroom teachers in implementing daily routines, activities, and lesson plans across various age groups.
- Provide a safe, clean, and nurturing environment for all children in the center.
- Supervise children during indoor play, outdoor activities, meals, and rest times.
- Cover staff breaks or planning and shift transitions seamlessly, adapting quickly to different classroom dynamics.
- Maintain open and positive communication with children, families, and fellow staff members.
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and remain active, standing, or walking for extended periods.
- Able to clear a full background check.
- Able to pass a health assessment.
- Strong communication, adaptability, and interpersonal skills.
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Knowledge of Connecticut childcare licensing regulations.
