Heavy Equipment Mechanic 

Join a leading player in the sand mining industry in West Texas! Our commitment to quality and safety distinguishes us in the market. As we expand our operations, we are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team.

Overview:

As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing the machinery essential to our production process. This position requires strong mechanical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and equipment reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

·      Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy equipment including front end loaders, conveyors, pumps, electrical, and other plant machinery.

·      Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely.

·      Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues and implement timely repairs.

·      Maintain accurate maintenance records, service logs, and inspection reports.

·      Ensure all repairs and maintenance activities comply with safety standards and company policies.

·      Coordinate with operations personnel to minimize downtime and optimize production.

·      Help manage parts inventory as needed for maintenance and repairs.

·      Assist in equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications.

·      Identify potential equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.

·      Maintain a clean and organized work area.

·      Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary to meet the operational needs of the plant.

Qualifications:

·      High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification is a plus.

·      Minimum of 3 years of experience as a mechanic, preferably in the sand mining or heavy equipment industry

·      Strong knowledge of AC electrical systems and mechanical components.

·      Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.

·      Experience with welding and fabrication is a plus.

·      Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recording and documenting information.

·      Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.

·      Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and make sound decisions.

·      Strong teamwork and communication skills.

·      Must be able to work a rotation schedule.

·      Must be able to provide own transportation to and from facility.

·      Familiarity with MSHA regulations and safety standards is preferred.

·      Valid Texas driver’s license; CDL is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

·      Lifting: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally for equipment handling or maintenance tasks.

·      Sitting/Standing/Walking: Ability to engage in prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking in both indoor and outdoor environments.

·      Climbing: Ability to climb stairs or ladders to access equipment for inspection and repair.

·      Stamina: Must possess the physical endurance to perform maintenance tasks for extended periods, including repetitive motions.

·      Environmental Tolerance: Ability to work in varying weather conditions and endure noise levels typical of an outdoor plant setting.

·      Dexterity: Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for using tools and equipment.

·      Vision: Adequate vision to diagnose issues and safely perform repairs.

·      Communication: Strong communication skills to interact effectively in a busy work environment.
