Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Active nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH, PALS required Must-Have: EPIC experience required Description: This position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in the Emergency Room setting. The nurse will work three night shifts from 7 PM to 7:30 AM. Occasional shifts from 3 PM to 3 AM may be required. The role involves up to weekend and holiday coverage as needed. No call is required for this position. Experience in STEMI and stroke facility settings is necessary. Special care populations include cancer, sepsis, medical emergencies, and behavioral health. The department provides care to all age groups. Duties may include management of BiPAP/CPAP, blood product administration, and care of ventilated patients. The role requires proficiency in central line management, continuous IV sedation, and interpretation of arterial blood gases. Travelers may be floated to different campuses as required. All nursing staff must pass a compliance EKG exam. Daily patient ratios will be monitored, with 4 patients per nurse during both day and night shifts. The emergency department may care for varied patient diagnoses and complexities.
