Senior Accountant - Remote

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Remote Senior Accountant. Summary: The primary focus is on delivering complete, accurate and timely monthly financial statements to ensure the financial integrity of the company for internal and external stakeholders. This role requires you to understand the business and apply technical accounting guidance to new transactions as well as process recurring transactions. Role Responsibilities:

• Report to the CFO and lead the end-to-end monthly, quarterly and annual close process
• Prepare journal entries, including posting transactions synced from other systems and preparing manual entries; Perform self-review for completeness and accuracy
• Prepare monthly bank and general ledger account reconciliations to ensure accurate and timely booking of transactions; Key GL areas include: Loan receivables, loan sales recognition, revenue, payroll, accruals
• Run payroll journal entry process
• Prepare and/or update fair value analyses for marked-to-market transactions, as applicable
• Prepare general ledger and consolidated financial statements, ensuring that financial statement line-item mapping is accurate
• Serve as primary point of contact for external audit and tax teams, supporting PBC requests
• Develop, implement, and document accounting policies and procedures, performing research on topics as required
• Assist with preparing and analyzing monthly/YTD income statement variance explanations
• Assist operations team, as needed, for items such as processing disbursements
• Ad hoc initiatives
• Bachelor's degree in accounting required; CPA preferred
• 3-5 years of general accounting experience required
• Experience in fintech or financial services industry preferred
• Experience developing skills using AI to optimize efficiency
• Proficient MS Excel skills required
• Strong analytical, organizational, time management, interpersonal and communication skills required
• Ability to work independently, with minimal oversight, as well as take initiative to identify areas for improvement or optimization
• Must exhibit professionalism, flexibility, a teamwork approach and attention to detail. Ability to work overtime if necessary

• Experience with QuickBooks
• Experience within financial services, lending, consumer finance, healthcare finance, or loan servicing environments
• Experience with loan accounting, interest income recognition, financing programs, or receivables portfolios
