REGIONAL MANAGER, ESTATE SETTLEMENT - WEALTH MANAGEMENT

Responsible for managing a Regional Estate Settlement Practice, providing leadership, and overseeing effectiveness. Provides thought leadership on governing issues related to client service with emphasis on policy and legal areas as necessary. Directs strategic and financial planning for the Regional Practice. Provides fiduciary expertise, ensures necessary solutions are developed as appropriate. Assesses opportunities to streamline and implement changes as appropriate. Conducts performance management and career development processes, and staffing and disciplinary actions.

Major Duties:

1. Oversees, plans and directs activities for the Regional Practice Team, ensuring the business objectives and fiduciary obligations are met.

2. Communicates Regional Practice/Team and Corporate strategy and goals.

3. Identifies need for change and modification in services, and initiates planning.

4. Achieves Estate Settlement revenue growth goals for Wealth Management.

5. Responsible for the internal and external marketing of the Practice's functions and capabilities.

6. Seasoned multi-disciplinary expert with extensive technical and / or business knowledge and functional expertise.

7. Focus of role is on execution of strategic direction of business function activities.

8. Carries out complex initiatives involving multiple disciplines and/or ambiguous issues.

9. Displays a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with the business to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity.

10. Makes staffing decisions, manages expenses and salary review process for the division.

11. Participates in developing practice strategic plan and sets goals and priorities based on the direction set for the unit; follows through to ensure that objectives are met.

12. Provides leadership and guidance to staff, fostering an environment that encourages employee participation, teamwork, and communication.

The ideal candidate will benefit from having the following competencies:

• A College or University degree and/or relevant proven work experience is required. JD preferred.
• In-depth Functional / Industry Knowledge is required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
• Highly flexible and adaptable to change.
• Leadership and organizational skills are required to determine the Practice's goals, resources needed, and to assess and develop the skills of staff.

Salary Range:
$137,400 - 240,400 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
