General Summary

Benderson Development is seeking an accomplished commercial real estate professional to join its Southwest Florida leasing team as Director of Leasing. Reporting directly to our Managing Directors, this role will help drive leasing strategy and execution across a significant portfolio of commercial properties, with responsibility for identifying opportunities, cultivating tenant relationships, negotiating transactions and maximizing the long-term performance of our assets.

The ideal candidate brings strong commercial real estate instincts, an established network and a track record of successfully originating and executing transactions.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop and execute leasing strategies designed to maximize occupancy, strengthen tenant mix and enhance the long-term value of the portfolio.
• Identify and pursue new leasing opportunities through established industry relationships, market intelligence, direct outreach and creative deal sourcing.
• Build and maintain relationships with local, regional and national tenants, brokers and other key industry contacts.
• Lead lease negotiations from initial discussions through transaction execution, including new leases, renewals, expansions and relocations.
• Evaluate prospective tenants and leasing opportunities based on financial strength, strategic fit, market positioning and overall value to the asset.
• Maintain a strong understanding of market conditions, competitive properties, tenant activity and emerging trends to identify opportunities and inform leasing strategy.
• Develop creative solutions for challenging vacancies, unique spaces and changing market conditions.
• Partner with senior leadership on significant leasing opportunities, portfolio strategy and key transaction decisions.
• Collaborate with internal legal, construction, property management, development and marketing teams to move transactions efficiently from initial opportunity through lease execution and tenant delivery.
• Provide leasing insight and market perspective in support of acquisitions, redevelopment opportunities, new development and broader portfolio initiatives.
• Represent Benderson Development in the market and strengthen relationships with the brokerage and commercial real estate communities.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of commercial real estate leasing experience with a demonstrated record of success.
• Established relationships within the commercial real estate community and the ability to develop new tenant and broker relationships.
• Strong business judgment with the ability to evaluate opportunities from both a financial and strategic perspective.
• Entrepreneurial, proactive approach with the ability to identify opportunities and move transactions forward.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.
