Sleep Technologist TraineeFull time, 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., variable days and weekendsIn a trainee role, provides physicians and patients with support needed to facilitate the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders and the promotion of good sleep.Essential FunctionsUnder the mentorship of a registered technologist, performs diagnostic sleep testing, including but not limited to order interpretation, medication administration, patient hook-up and monitoring, BLS responsibility, continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) initiation and titration, oxygen administration, and other related duties.Documents findings / patient responses in a manner consistent with documentation guidelines.Reports equipment problems to the appropriate person.Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures where appropriate and completes all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on a timely basis.Performs other duties as assigned.QualificationsRequiredHigh School Diploma or equivalentAccredited Sleep Technologist Education Program (A-STEP), AASM, American Academy of Sleep Medicine within 1 yearBasic Life Support (BLS), American Heart Association or American Red Cross within 90 days.About Corewell HealthAs a team member at Corewell Health, you will play an essential role in delivering personalized health care to our patients, members, and our communities.
